Gary’s journey as a writer began early.

As a young boy, he loved to read and that love evolved into a desire to write. While attending Furman University, he worked at the Greenville News and completed a summer internship at his hometown paper, the Index-Journal.

After earning his Ph.D. from Baylor University, he began writing magazine articles on parenting and family (his words: “which I have to say, I really knew little about!”). Four nonfiction books followed before he stepped into the world of novels.

Since then, twenty titles have emerged from his imagination, stories designed to inspire and uplift. His most recent release, The Playbook, continues that mission.

When he isn’t writing, Gary enjoys golf, guitar, bike riding (the pedaling kind), and spending time with his wife and family. Nothing flashy, just curiosity, discipline, and a steady dedication to meaningful work.
