Dan and Jean - 50 Years of Love and Laughter

Dan and Jean have been married for 50 years and are still undeniably in love with each other.

They told me the story of how on their wedding day someone mumbled as they walked by "Well, there goes another couple who won't make it." They joked that that guy must feel pretty bad watching them from his grave.

50 years later look at these two love birds soaking up the last rays of sun this past Sunday, cracking jokes with each other and snuggling up like it was their honeymoon.

To have a love that lasts as long as theirs has is a dream. I asked them what the secret to a long lasting relationship was and Jean replied "Relationships take a lot of work! You have to keep working at it and talking to each other."

They have indeed overcome many obstacles in life together and I am so happy they did because they are the absolute sweetest and a testament to me, as well as many others, that relationships can indeed last.

I asked Dan what his favorite thing was about Jean and he said "She makes me laugh". She did indeed crack many jokes as we walked around the park and they shared a lot of quiet whispers and laughs.

I asked Jean what her favorite thing about Dan was and she said "He's rich!" which sent Dan spiraling into giggles next to her. He said "She ALWAYS is joking!"

It's not every day that you meet couples who have made it together for so long and the definitely deserve to be celebrated. I loved getting the opportunity to photograph this amazing couple. They made me smile for sure!

To love, to life, to 50 years of laughter: Dan and Jean. A love story that lives on.
