Lisa's In Studio Christmas Themed Birthday Session

This sweet girl walked into my studio for her birthday session in an adorable Christmas inspired dress and a cake that SHE MADE!!!! How talented is she??? That cake is absolutely gorgeous! I was astounded at her skills and attention to detail! 

She was born on December 24th so a Christmas themed birthday session was absolutely perfect. She had asked for a red background so I scooted over to the photography store in Atlanta to buy red backdrop paper for her session. 

I love, love, love the red! It turned out so cute and perfect for her session. 

She had only brought the cake so I decided to add a few props in there to give it some flair. I sat her on a white chair, I blew up a few white balloons right then and there, I asked her to blow fake glitter so I could add it in photoshop later, and put a Santa hat on her. 

I tried to get her as comfortable as I could posing for me and just asked her to trust me. I could tell how proud she was of her cake so I asked her to lay down next to the cake so I could take some top down photos of it. I told her "You may think I'm completely nuts but I think it will turn out cute!" and she absolutely loved that pose. 

She trusted me to pose her and the more relaxed and trusting she was, the more creative I got with the poses. It makes it fun! I know I am a complete stranger to my clients when they walk in the door but I hope that they leave seeing me as a friend and someone who just wants to make them look their best!
