As a maternity photographer based in Suwanee, I’ve explored dozens of locations to help expecting mamas look and feel their best on camera. Here are my top 5 favorite outdoor locations for maternity photos in North Atlanta:

1. Sims Lake Park (Suwanee, GA)

A hidden gem with wooded paths, a tranquil lake, and stone benches—plus it's right in Suwanee, so super convenient for local families.

2. McDaniel Farm Park (Duluth, GA)

This charming park has old barns, white fences, and gorgeous golden hour light. Great for timeless, countryside-style maternity portraits.

3. Prospect Farms (Lawrenceville, GA)

A rustic wooden bridge, old mill ruins, and a flowing waterfall? Yes, please. This spot is iconic for a reason.

3. Unnamed Park (Marietta, GA)

This park doesn't have a name and I won't disclose the location because I don't want it overrun with photographers. It's a private park that's on a school campus and it's very serene and gorgeous. I've done maternity, family, and jiu jitsu sessions there. It's got a waterfall, a very old mill, a beautiful bridge and lake, and a serene stream.

4. Vines Park (Loganville, GA)

This park is gorgeous. It's connected to a wedding venue. There are columns, statues, a big lake, gorgeous pavilions, an Asian garden, and lots of beautiful vegetation.

5. The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center (Buford, GA)

This park is unique. It has some interesting architecture and a beautiful stream. It also has some old buildings, and some bridges and lots of trees and vegetation. I find it fun to go to the park to see the turtles, frogs, and fish in the stream.

Bonus Tips:

Golden hour (just after sunrise or before sunset) offers the most flattering light
Flowy dresses and soft fabrics photograph beautifully outdoors
Bring water and comfy shoes—you’ll be glowing but moving around!
